Scientific Acceptance Criteria
All articles submitted for publication are peer reviewed. The Journal of International Medical Research has recently reviewed its scientific and editorial submission criteria for manuscripts.
Submitted manuscripts must meet the journal’s scientific and editorial submission criteria.
Before submitting your manuscript and to facilitate the Peer Review process, please ensure that you have carefully considered and answered the questions in the Journal Submission Criteria in terms of assessing whether your manuscript is suitable for submission to the journal. Please include your answers with your manuscript.
Most Case Reports that are submitted to the journal are rejected. Case Reports should be of general and not just specialist interest. They must include a systematic literature search, including Medline. Rarity is not an appropriate criterion for acceptance; it may indicate that the paper would be more appropriate for a specialist publication.
Retrospective case record analyses are discouraged and unlikely to be accepted.
Small-scale, localized and pilot studies are unlikely to be accepted. Replication in a local sample is not a reason for acceptance – the rationale for the study must be demonstrated.
